This work continues the Dreams of Immigration series, but shifts it into a more personal register. At the centre is the artist herself, flying into the unknown together with her dog. The flight appears as a fairy tale cosmic journey, where migration becomes a passage between worlds. The old planet is left behind. The heroine is seen off by fairy tale little devils. They are creatures from the past: fears, habits, and attachments that remain in the former world and will miss her. Psychologically, the work speaks about the moment of separation. In order to move forward, one has not only to leave the old place, but also to accept that part of one’s former life will continue to exist without them. The dog beside the heroine becomes an image of support and loyalty in a situation of complete uncertainty. In this work, immigration is shown as a flight with no guaranteed landing, where fear mixes with curiosity, and farewell becomes part of moving forward.
