About love

In this work, love is turned inward, toward one’s own body and state of being. The figure sits in a meditative pose on a large green leaf. The body is not presented for the viewer, but seems to return to itself. The touch of the breast and stomach becomes a gesture of acceptance, attention, and inner contact. The flower-like form behind the figure enhances the sense of quiet transformation: self-love is shown here as a practice, slow and almost ritualistic.
